Creamy crab salad

Here’s a simple, classic creamy crab salad you can make in about 10 minutes 🦀

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) crab meat (real crab or imitation), chopped
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1–2 tbsp sour cream or Greek yogurt (optional, for extra creaminess)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1–2 celery stalks, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp red onion or green onion, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: a pinch of paprika or Old Bay seasoning
  • Optional add-ins: diced cucumber, avocado, or fresh dill

Instructions

  1. Prep the crab
    Gently check for shells and chop into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Mix the dressing
    In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream (if using), lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  3. Combine
    Add crab, celery, and onion to the dressing. Fold gently so the crab stays chunky.
  4. Season & chill
    Taste and adjust seasoning. Chill for 15–30 minutes for best flavor.

How to Serve

  • On toast or a croissant 🥐
  • In lettuce cups
  • As a sandwich filling
  • With crackers or pita chips
