Slow cooker chicken

Here’s a simple and flavorful Slow Cooker Chicken recipe — juicy, tender, and versatile for a variety of meals. 🍗


🥘 Ingredients (serves 4–6)

  • 4–6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs

  • 1 onion, sliced

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup chicken broth

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme or Italian seasoning

  • Optional: 1/2 cup cream or sour cream for a creamy version

  • Optional: 1 cup sliced mushrooms, carrots, or bell peppers


🍳 Instructions

  1. Prepare slow cooker:

    • Spray slow cooker with cooking spray or lightly oil.

  2. Add ingredients:

    • Place sliced onion and garlic in the bottom.

    • Season chicken with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme; place on top of onions.

    • Pour chicken broth over the top.

    • Add optional vegetables if using.

  3. Cook:

    • Cover and cook on LOW for 6–8 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until chicken is tender and fully cooked (internal temperature 165°F / 74°C).

  4. Optional creamy finish:

    • About 30 minutes before serving, stir in cream or sour cream for a rich, creamy sauce.

  5. Serve:

    • Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, pasta, or with steamed vegetables.


✅ Tips:

  • You can use bone-in chicken, but reduce cooking time slightly.

  • For more flavor, sear chicken in a skillet before adding to the slow cooker.

  • Leftovers make great chicken sandwiches, tacos, or salads.
