Orange and ricotta dessert

Here’s a light, fresh Orange & Ricotta Dessert—creamy, not too sweet, and perfect after a meal 🍊

Orange Ricotta Cream (No-Bake)

Ingredients (4 servings)

  • 1 cup whole-milk ricotta (well drained)
  • 2–3 tbsp honey or powdered sugar (to taste)
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 2 tbsp fresh orange juice
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional toppings: orange segments, crushed pistachios, dark chocolate shavings, biscotti crumbs

Instructions

  1. Whip the ricotta
    • In a bowl, whisk ricotta until smooth and creamy (or use a food processor for extra smoothness).
  2. Flavor it
    • Add honey (or sugar), orange zest, orange juice, vanilla, and salt.
    • Mix until light and fluffy.
  3. Chill
    • Refrigerate for 15–30 minutes to let flavors meld.
  4. Serve
    • Spoon into small bowls or glasses.
    • Top with orange segments and any toppings you like.

Variations

  • Italian-style: Add a splash of orange liqueur (optional).
  • Layered dessert: Alternate ricotta cream with crushed cookies or graham crackers.
  • Healthier: Use part-skim ricotta and sweeten lightly with honey.
  • Baked version: Use as a filling for tart shells or puff pastry.
