Sweet Baby Ray’s chicken drumsticks

Posted on December 20, 2025 by Admin

Sweet Baby Ray’s chicken drumsticks are super easy to make and packed with sweet, tangy BBQ flavor. Here’s a simple way to cook them:

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 8 chicken drumsticks
  • 1 cup Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce (or more for glazing)
  • 1–2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder, smoked paprika, or chili powder for extra flavor

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • Preheat to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare chicken
    • Pat drumsticks dry with paper towels.
    • Rub with olive oil, salt, pepper, and optional spices.
  3. Bake
    • Place drumsticks on a lined or greased baking sheet.
    • Bake for 25–30 minutes.
  4. Glaze with BBQ sauce
    • Remove from oven, brush drumsticks generously with Sweet Baby Ray’s sauce.
    • Return to oven for 10–15 more minutes, basting once halfway through, until chicken is cooked through (internal temp 165°F / 74°C) and sauce is caramelized.
  5. Serve
    • Let rest 5 minutes, then serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.

💡 Tips for juicier drumsticks

  • Marinate in BBQ sauce for 1–2 hours (or overnight) before baking for extra flavor.
  • For crispier skin, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end, keeping a close eye to avoid burning.
  • Drumsticks pair well with mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, or coleslaw.

I can also give a slow cooker version so the drumsticks come out super tender and sticky with minimal effort. Do you want that version?
