banana fudge

Posted on December 20, 2025 by Admin

Banana fudge is a rich, creamy treat with a subtle banana flavor—perfect for a simple homemade dessert. Here’s a straightforward recipe:

Ingredients (makes about 16 squares)

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: ½ cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare bananas
    • Peel and mash the bananas until smooth.
  2. Cook the fudge base
    • In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, milk, and butter.
    • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves and the mixture comes to a gentle boil.
  3. Add bananas
    • Remove from heat and stir in the mashed bananas and vanilla extract.
    • If using, fold in nuts or chocolate chips.
  4. Set the fudge
    • Pour the mixture into a greased or parchment-lined square dish.
    • Smooth the top with a spatula.
  5. Cool and cut
    • Let it cool at room temperature for a few hours, or refrigerate for faster setting.
    • Once firm, cut into squares and serve.

💡 Tips for perfect banana fudge

  • Use very ripe bananas for the strongest flavor.
  • Stir constantly when cooking to prevent burning.
  • If you like a softer fudge, add a splash of cream with the milk.

I can also give a quick no-cook banana fudge version that sets in the fridge in under an hour if you want it faster. Do you want that version?
