Here’s a classic, creamy Homemade Banana Pudding—sweet, smooth, and layered with vanilla wafers 🍌✨


Homemade Banana Pudding

Servings: 6–8

Ingredients

  • 3–4 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 box (5.1 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream, whipped (or 1 tub whipped topping, thawed)
  • 1 box (11 oz) vanilla wafers

Instructions

  1. Make the pudding
    • In a large bowl, whisk together pudding mix and cold milk for 2 minutes.
    • Stir in sweetened condensed milk and vanilla until smooth.
    • Fold in whipped cream for a creamy texture.
  2. Layer the pudding
    • In a 9×9-inch dish (or trifle dish), layer vanilla wafers, banana slices, and pudding mixture.
    • Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, ending with pudding on top.
  3. Chill
    • Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours (overnight is best) to allow wafers to soften slightly and flavors to meld.
  4. Serve
    • Optional: Top with crushed wafers or a few banana slices just before serving.

Tips & Variations

  • Use ripe but firm bananas to prevent them from turning mushy.
  • For a richer pudding, use homemade custard instead of instant mix.
  • Add a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg for extra flavor.
  • Layer in individual cups for easy portion servings.
