Here’s a classic, crowd-pleasing recipe for Cream Cheese Sausage Balls—perfect for parties, breakfast, or snacking.

Cream Cheese Sausage Balls

Servings: ~24 small balls

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) breakfast sausage (raw, uncooked)
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • ½ tsp onion powder (optional)
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven
    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Ingredients
    • In a large bowl, combine sausage, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, flour, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper.
    • Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly combined.
  3. Form the Balls
    • Scoop about 1–1.5 tablespoons of mixture and roll into small balls. Place on the prepared baking sheet, spacing slightly apart.
  4. Bake
    • Bake for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of sausage should reach 160°F / 71°C).
  5. Serve
    • Serve warm as an appetizer or snack.

Tips

  • Cheese variation: Use pepper jack for a spicy kick or smoked cheddar for extra flavor.
  • Freezing: These freeze well—freeze raw balls on a tray, then transfer to a bag for later baking.
  • Air fryer option: Bake in an air fryer at 375°F for 12–15 minutes for crispier edges.
  • Make-ahead: Mix ahead of time and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before baking.

If you want, I can also give a spicy jalapeño version for an extra kick that’s perfect for parties.

Do you want me to do that?
