Here’s a bold, sweet-and-savory Cajun Honey Butter Salmon recipe—crispy edges, flaky inside, and packed with flavor:


Cajun Honey Butter Salmon

Ingredients (serves 2–4)

  • 2–4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Cajun Honey Butter Sauce

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1–1½ tsp Cajun seasoning (adjust to heat preference)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

1. Season the salmon

  • Pat salmon dry.
  • Season lightly with salt and pepper.

2. Sear the salmon

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Place salmon skin-side down and cook 4–5 minutes until crispy.
  • Flip and cook 2–3 more minutes until just cooked through.
  • Remove salmon from skillet and set aside.

3. Make Cajun honey butter

  • Lower heat to medium.
  • Add butter to the same skillet.
  • Once melted, stir in honey, Cajun seasoning, and garlic.
  • Cook 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
  • Stir in lemon juice.

4. Finish

  • Return salmon to skillet.
  • Spoon sauce over salmon and cook 1 minute, basting continuously.

Serve With

  • Garlic mashed potatoes
  • Rice or dirty rice
  • Roasted asparagus or green beans

Tips & Variations

  • Oven method: Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes, then broil 2 minutes with sauce.
  • Extra heat: Add cayenne or red pepper flakes.
  • Air fryer: Cook salmon at 390°F for 8–10 minutes, then brush with warm sauce.
