Here’s a super-quick 3-minute liquid-dough garlic flatbread you can cook in a pan. Fast, soft, and perfect when you need bread right now.


3-Minute Liquid Dough Garlic Flatbread

Ingredients (1–2 flatbreads)

  • ½ cup (120 ml) all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup (120 ml) water
  • 1 tbsp yogurt OR 1 tsp oil (optional, for softness)
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt

Garlic Butter Topping

  • 1 tbsp butter (or oil)
  • 1–2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Pinch of parsley or cilantro (optional)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

1. Make the liquid dough (1 minute)

In a bowl, whisk together:

  • Flour
  • Water
  • Baking powder
  • Salt
  • (Optional yogurt or oil)

The batter should be like pancake batter—pourable but not watery.
Add a splash of water or flour if needed.


2. Cook the flatbread (2 minutes)

  1. Heat a nonstick pan or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Pour about ¼–⅓ cup of batter into the pan and swirl to spread it thin, like a crepe.
  3. Cook 1 minute until bubbles form and the edges lift.
  4. Flip and cook another 30–45 seconds, lightly pressing to get color.

Repeat for additional flatbreads.


3. Make fast garlic butter

While the bread cooks:

  1. Melt butter (or warm oil).
  2. Stir in minced garlic, salt, and herbs.

Brush or spoon over the hot flatbread.


Tips

  • Add chili flakes, za’atar, or cheese to the batter for variations.
  • For crisp edges, add a few drops of oil around the bread while cooking.
  • For thicker naan-like texture, pour more batter and cook slightly longer.
